In the wake of President Donald Trump’s dynamite address to the United Nations General Assembly, it’s important to remember just how useless — if not, harmful — the international body really is.
The UN was formed in the aftermath of the Second World War with the goal of preventing another devastating global conflict. To be sure, the goal was a noble one, and there are some success stories in this regard. But this very goal is jeopardized with the inclusion of authoritarian enemies of the American people — particularly the communist People’s Republic of China.
Despite the fact that democratic Taiwan, officially The Republic of China (as in, not communist) was a founding member of the UN, it is their communist enemy that holds one of the five permanent seats on the UN Security Council. Just one veto from any member state kills any motion or legislation that goes through the chamber. China has been more than happy to abuse this privilege.
With China granted so many privileges, it remains almost impossible for the international community to bring Beijing to heel. Incredibly, President Donald Trump called this out during his last address.
“As we pursue this bright future, we must hold accountable the nation which unleashed this plague onto the world: China,” Trump said. “In the earliest days of the virus, China locked down travel domestically while allowing flights to leave China and infect the world. China condemned my travel ban on their country, even as they cancelled domestic flights and locked citizens in their homes.”
Obviously, putting China in the hot seat is never a popular thing to do at the UN. But, Trump did it anyway — and he didn’t stop there.
“The Chinese government and the World Health Organization — which is virtually controlled by China — falsely declared that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. Later, they falsely said people without symptoms would not spread the disease,” Trump continued. “The United Nations must hold China accountable for their actions.”
The way things stand right now, the UN is just another international institution perverted by the Chinese Communist Party.

How many years were we going to get out of the U.N.? Here we are still in middle of it and we pay almost all the expences. It is past time to pull out or shut it down! Don’t talk do it!

Oh it’s way past time to rid ourselves of the UN socialist club! Do you know how big that building is? Big enough to put a large VA hospital in and a retirement home for veterans, plus help homeless vets with a place to live while getting education or whatever is needed to get back into society! IMO if they want the UN to continue put it in Europe, they love socialism in all forms, but we should not pay anything toward it, cause 90% of the UN hates us and wants to help socialism in America!
Just how much money does the USA contribute to the UN annually as compared to what China contributes?
At least we have a President who is willing to stand up for the USA and not back down!
This is the reason why we voted & hired Mr. Trump to be our President Trump and why we will re-elect him this coming November!
Everyone else just wants to bow down to China. It makes you wonder how much money China had poured into other countries’ politicians, universities and manufacturing companies as well as other businesses, such as agriculture.
America pays more into the UN than any other nation. They are here an use our facilities. Cut off all of the American funds, kick them out of our building and maybe some good can be accomplished while they figure out where, how and when they can regroup. China and the Middle East use it as a place to push their idiot, mean practices on countries that have normal people in charge. Kick them all out, take all the keys, pull all of their passports. We don’t have to allow them to come here .
Seems like their plan is and has been that they want to come here, push us around, and they want us to pay for everything while they do it.
We need to move UN out of our country NOW!
The USA provides 22 percent of the budget for the UN. The next largest is China at 12%. What we get from that is the abuse from most of the world. The UN won’t prevent another global war anymore than I will. Then we have to put up with all these stinking people from sh*t hole countries in NYC where they park where they want, break any laws they want and nothing can be done about it perhaps other than to request their country take them out of the US. Quit giving them anything and toss the whole bunch into the Atantic.
