The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles is without a doubt no fan of soccer, known internationally as “football,” and he isn’t afraid to say it.
This opinion might read as heresy considering what’s happening in the sports world at the moment, but when you hear Knowles explain why — it kind of makes sense.
If you’re the average American, chances are you were made aware of the World Cup taking place by the more “cultured” friends on your Facebook feed. The event certainly generates impressive ratings, which seem to improve every four years.
There is a certain amount of irony in America’s relationship with soccer. For one, globalist former President Barack Obama made repeated attempts to convince the FIFA organization to host the event in America — at his home town in Chicago — to no avail. Noted anti-globalist President Donald Trump did the same, somehow convincing the same organization to agree.
However, as far as Knowles is concerned, the most popular sport in the world (consequently, among the least popular in the United States) is about as anti-American as it gets. Why? Find out in the video below.
