Far-Left “Free Press” Petitions FCC to Silence Conservative Voices

Left-wing extremists have turned the COVID-19 pandemic into a political football, and one far-left media outlet recently petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to censor the White House.

Calling themselves the “Free Press,” the radical organization takes its cues from establishment Democrats who have been trying to divide the country and sow the seeds of doubt during these troubling times. Democrats and their cohorts in the media have begun a misinformation campaign designed to undermine the leadership of President Donald Trump.

The American people have seen this political theater unfold before with the Russian witch hunt and Ukraine-gate. In both scandals, Democrat operatives were discovered orchestrating hoaxes or the source of nefarious activities. With the president rolling out comprehensive measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic, keep businesses afloat, and deliver financial resources to everyday people, he’s looking far too presidential for the left. That’s why the scurrilous Free Press tried to stop media outlets from airing the COVID-19 task force briefings.

Fortunately, commissioners don’t seem to keen on censoring the president for purely political purposes.

“Under my leadership, the FCC has always stood firmly in defense of Americans’ First Amendment freedoms, including freedom of the press. And so long as I am Chairman of this agency, we always will,” FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said. “The federal government will not — and never should — investigate broadcasters for their editorial judgments simply because a special interest group is angry at the views being expressed on the air as well as those expressing them. In short, we will not censor the news.”

Organizations still suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome have taken issue with the comprehensive leadership by the White House and task force. Those in charge at the so-called Free Press responded in a less than professional manner to the FCC’s refusal to censor. In a response laced with anger and bigotry against conservatives, Free Press Co-CEO Jessica J. González blasted the very idea of free speech on the organization’s website.

“Today’s decision shows that when the Republican ideologues sitting in the majority at the FCC are asked to provide guidance and protect people against medical misinformation aired on broadcast outlets, they don’t take that request seriously,” González stated. “But when the agency feels like it can score points with the Trump administration and its right-wing base, it answers very quickly, but without giving any serious thought to the FCC’s public-interest mandate or to the life-and-death consequences of the issue at hand.”

It’s a given the Free Press response sound more like that of a spurned lover than a professional media outlet. But that has been the general state of left-wing organizations dating back to the run-up to the 2016 election. If anything Free Press said were evenly remotely true about the Trump Administration, the left-wing zealots posing as reporters would have been tossed out of the White House and censored in the first week of the administration. Truth be told, President Trump has demonstrated Herculean patience dealing with the likes of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta, among others.

According to reports, the Free Press ranks among the outlandish organizations that falsely tried to pin the death of a non-infected man who drank fish tank cleaner on the president. To say the Free Press has a credibility problem would be something of an understatement.
