For the past several years, the Democratic Party has been its own worst enemy. Perched atop ivory towers built in coastal cities, the elites of the party have fallen out of touch with their electorate. What’s worse is that the party continues to push for radical, far-left policies that everyone outside of a very vocal minority opposes. The end result is a platform that drives voters ways rather than drawing them in.
The Democratic party’s loss, though, is President Donald Trump’s gain. In 2016, Democrats made it terribly easy for Trump to win the election by nominating someone who was arguably the worst candidate in U.S. history. Now, with the 2020 election on the horizon, Democrats are once again paving the way for Trump by pushing for policies that will drive voters into his camp.
From their stance on abortion and illegal immigration to their push for a socialist United States of America, there is no shortage of self-destructive policies within the Democratic Party. If given power, these policies could be the downfall of our country. By the same token, though, these policies could ensure that Democrats are not given the power they need to enact them.
