The left is fond of taking a foreign political leader and hoisting him onto an ideological pedestal based on an appearance of bravado, revolutionary spirit, and glossed over sanctimony. But what they frequently leave out are the murders, the self-interest, and the money behind the power grabbers they so cherish.
Interestingly, they do the opposite for leaders they don’t like. Consider Augusto Pinochet, for example. The tally of murders on his belt was much smaller than that of Che Guevara. But Pinochet was a right winger, and the handful of people he killed were communist revolutionaries. So the left, with a little help from the deeply indoctrinated musical star — Sting — made Pinochet out to be some South American madman. They compared him to, well– you know who they compared him to. Who do they always compare right-wingers to? You know damn well.
Then, there’s Fidel Castro. We don’t know how many of his own citizens he poured into mass graves and bulldozed into oblivion. It’s notoriously difficult to count the dead when they’re disposed of in that way. The New York Times, however, backed the Castro regime, hailing it as a major accomplishment for human dignity. Castro himself called the NYT the best asset of the Communist revolutionary movement saying, “We could not do our work without them.”
Che, the darling of the left, took great pleasure in unloading his revolver into the skulls of young boys. He was also the son of wealthy parents.
Here’s Jesse Lee Peterson with the truth on another popular leftist hero.
