Is the Robert Mueller Witch Hunt Finally Over?

At the risk of repeating ourselves, the Special Counsel Office for the investigation into President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with the Russian government to win the 2016 election is sending signals that they are wrapping up the operation.

Now, we’ve been seeing (and writing) headlines saying exactly this since at least December, so we could very well be entirely wrong and will have to write this same exact story again a full year from now. What is news, however, is the mainstream media’s mixed reaction to the whole thing.

You’ll recall that it wasn’t long ago when virtually every single Democrat believed that Robert Mueller was the silver bullet that was finally going to end this Trumpian nightmare. Keith Olbermann actually announced on Twitter that he was pulling out of political commentary entirely because he was so confident that Mueller was going to pull the plug on the Trump Administration any day now. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but we haven’t heard from Olbermann since (we’re not that upset about it).

Now, the mainstream media is sounding off very differently. Many pundits like Chuck Todd are preparing for everyone — Republicans and Democrats alike — to be disappointed with the final report. We have no idea what this means for Republicans, but the only reason Democrats would be upset is if there is not enough information to justify an impeachment. That’s it. And if that’s the case, why wouldn’t Republicans rejoice over it?

Even if there is damning information that isn’t necessarily a career-ender for the president in the penultimate report, it’s important to remember that President Trump’s personal shortcomings are already baked into the cake. Virtually everyone who voted for him did so knowing he was a womanizer, makes profane statements, and has had business dealings with less than reputable people. That didn’t make a difference, because he ran on a firmly pro-American platform — something Democrats have decided is the ultimate evil going into 2020. We’ll see how that works out for them…

Watch Mark Dice break down the mainstream media’s reaction to this below.
