Most of the debates between the left and the right revolve around theoretical things — the ethics of capitalism, the proper role of government in healthcare, what a sound foreign policy looks like — just to name a few things.
However, there are things we can look at in retrospect where the radical left was proven verifiably wrong. Interestingly, we are witnessing several of these giant fails play out in real time.
When President Donald Trump suggested that the Obama administration was spying on him during his White House run in 2016, the left collectively threw their heads back and laughed at him. To them, this was conspiratorial nonsense. There was simply no way that the venerable Barack Obama would stoop so low as to use his authority to dig for dirt against a political opponent.
Apparently, this reaction did not age well. Now, it’s fairly common knowledge that there as at least some effort by the Obama administration to investigate then-candidate Trump on possible connections to the Russian government (yes, this conspiracy theory is over two years old at this point).
After denying that there was any informant embedded in the campaign and now forced to lament over the fact that his identity has been revealed, former Obama-era officials have been forced to play damage control.
