President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the controversial Iran nuclear deal has caused quite the stir among international leaders across Europe and Asia, with some opposing the decision and some supporting it wholeheartedly.
Right now, the narrative in the mainstream media is that the entire world stands against Trump’s decision. However, a closer look at reactions among leaders in the Middle East shows that this is not the case.
Leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel have all come out in strong support of President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the deal. In fact, it was Israeli intelligence which showed that Iran was not keeping their end of the bargain that the President largely used to make his decision. All of these leaders agree that withdrawing from the deal and reimposing tough economic sanctions on Iran is the only way to curb their nuclear program as well as their increased aggression in the Middle East.
Of course, there are plenty of other world leaders – largely in Europe – that oppose the decision. Naturally, Iran opposes it as well, as they are none too pleased with losing the ridiculous terms that the deal allowed them. Nevertheless, the idea that the entire world opposes Trump’s decision is yet another false narrative from the left.
