Jimmy Kimmel Issues “Apology” to Sean Hannity

Much to the dismay of everyone who would prefer that Jimmy Kimmel stick to comedy and leave politics to the professionals, Kimmel has done much more than wade into politics on his show – he’s dove in head first. Now, after brutally mocking Melania Trump including making fun of her accent, Kimmel found himself in a bit of a feud with Sean Hannity, who came to the First Lady’s defense.

At first, Kimmel didn’t back down in the slightest. It wasn’t until he angered members of the LGBQT community by referring to Sean Hannity and Donald Trump as being in a gay relationship that Kimmel finally felt it necessary to apologize.

Of course, at least at first, his “apology” wasn’t directed at Hannity and was instead issued to anyone who might have been offended by his remarks. Kimmel did later address Hannity directly, but his remarks to Hannity were so laced with sarcasm that it’s much easier to see them as yet another jab than it is to see them as an actual apology.

Regardless of whether Kimmel apologizes or not, he’s already shown his true colors by attacking a graceful woman in a position of power and mocking the accent of someone who speaks multiple languages.
